The Stuttgart Media University (HdM) educates undergraduate and postgraduate students to specialists in all fields of media. The HdM provides all logistical, technological and pedagogical resources for a vocational training in media industry knowledge.
Students can acquire a bachelor’s or/and master’s degree. The university offers around 20 courses, organized in three different faculties: Print & Publishing, Electronic Media and Information & Communication. Lectures are primarily held in German, with some exceptions taught in English. Approximately 3.400 students from Germany, Europe, and all over the world are enrolled at the HdM, with exchange students studying alongside residents.

Media platforms like radio, television, film, DVD and Blu-Ray, and the Internet are combined in the program. Lectures cover a variety of media topics, e.g. media technology, media economics, production and design of audiovisual management, as well as the analysis and content development of electronic media in general. Since the course content is similar, syllabi are closely interlinked.
A great advantage for students are the many opportunities to do practical work. The HdM is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and studios for students to put their theory into practice, and joint projects between the HdM and companies in the region provide students to gain field expertise.
